It was recently reported that there had arisen itffoßmtain eniviftcuteftdj vision ' of opinion as'to'whether houses in:which' cancerous patients ha\ie lived transmit the disease, and in some quarters a national, inquiry \o solve tho problem has been urged. The recurrence of the disease in the same blocks of buildings has hitherto been put down to coincidence. A cancerous mouse was recently placed in nn uncleaned cage and other mice introduced. They contracted tho disease, and oven after tho cage was cloansed once the taint remained, frequent disinfections being required to remove it.
