(From Our Special Correspondent.) 1 An appeal song, written especially for tho Upper Huti Fund by a Petone resident, has been completed, and will bo rendered shortly by Messrs. Lockyer and Simpson, of Petone. It is understood that an open-air entertainment is to take place next week, when this item will be rendered for tho first time. An enjoyable "social"-was held in tho Pctone Orange Hall under the auspices of the Petone Ladies' Social Guild last evening. About thirty-five couples attended. and Mr. and Mrs. D. Fraser officiated as M.O. and piauist respectively. A pleasant social was held in tho Petone Church of Christ last evening. There was a good attendance, and an interesting programmo was presented.
