—4, ~ THE REGULATIONS. Tho regulations to the Labour Disputes Investigation Act of fast session appear in tho current Gazette. In tho "Slit oi recent events the operation of this Act will no doubt bo looked forward to with considerable interest by both-workers and employers, as its primary object is to bring about a prompt settlement of all labour disputes'. The following arc the chief regulations-Ve-lerring to the conduct of hsliots:-^-l''or.thc purposes.of a ballot β-f workers to be taken pursuant to tho said Act or these regulations, the Registrar shall compile a list of the names and descriptions of those workers who be is satisfied arc directly concerned in the matter of the dispute, avid arc entitled to vote at tlio ballot; and the list shall, with such alterations ami additions as the Registrar thinks fit to make, be the roll of voters for the purpose of t-li-o ballot. The Registrar shall fix a-day or days, and shall appoint such piace'or places as ho thinks fit, for taking the ballot, and shall determine the tinw when theballot shall be deemed to bo dosed, - Before any such ballot is talwn'the Registrar, in his discretion, shall cither send to each person who in his opinion is entitled io vote at the ballot ia notice sotting forth the inlentwii to talw the ballot, the issues to be sjihmHted thereat, and tho timo w-h-ois pad llm place or places whore tlio same shall bo taken ; or shall advertise the said no- i tieo in such newspaper or newspapers circulating in the district as ho thinks fit.
