POLITICAL ADDRESS
Mil. H. CAMPBELL AT MOHAKA
Mr. H. Campbell, M.P. for Hawke's Hay, addressed his constituents at the Mohaka end of the electorate on lhursday evening last. Thoro was a very largo and' attentive audience. Mr. J. Fleming was in the chair, and in his opening remarks stated that the district had never been in such a prosperous state. ' It only needed a raifway to make it a very populous "district, as then large areas of splendid country would be thrown on tlio market. Mr. Campbell, on coming forward to speak, received a great ovation, and during the whole of his address only one discordant note was heard. Mr. Campbell gave nil outline of the workdone by tho present Government, and stated that instead of working in the. direction' of reducing wages, 'as the Opposition had frequently'misstated it had increased the pay of l'ublic Servants all round. If wass when the speaker was alluding to the strike that the only discordant note was struck, but the interruption was speedily drowned by the applause which followed.
