RECORD NEW BUSINESS.
A.M.P. SOCIETY'S YEAR, By Toleiraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. April 30, 8 p.m.) Sydney, April 30. At tie annual meeting of the A.M.P. Society, tho chairman (Hon. A. W. Alecks, M.L.C.) said that the new business transacted during tho past year exceeded that of any previous year. He emphasised the fact that no other office in tho British Empire transacted so large an amount of ordinary business. The board, he added, would consider the question of granting bonuses to tlie staff. Mr. Harold Beaiiehamp stated that the New Zealand branch had broken ■ the ..previous y'ear's record for new 'business in both departments. Owing to tho exception ally lino season, and highly remunerative rates ruling for all descriptions of produce," the Dominion's ■ prosperity was beyond question, and, with an over-expanding oversea trade, and the opening up of new markets, the outlook was of great promise. Those connected with the lending institutions viewed with apprehension the high land values,, but tho;actual results achieved, by farming'such lands by'ilio'adoption of scientific methods appeared to warrant the establishment of theso values.
