Wedding at Pirinoa. A very pretty wedding Un>k plane at Pirinoa, tlio residence of tho brido's mother, on Wednesday, when iliss 8.% il'Dougall, daiif;litcrol M«. il-'Dougall, was married to Jlr. (i. 1:1., ffidsbwry, smi of Mrs. George J)idsbury, of Tho ceremony was a very quiet o'rn?, only relatives being present, and the }'ov. Jlr. Bond, of Alartinborough, conducted tho service. The bride, v.'lto was i-aven. away by her eldest brother, wore a feliente grey figured crepe do Iclsino gown, and large black hat, with u, white ostrich feather. She was attended by hor sister, Miss N. M'JDougall, , who was in a white embroidered frock and nattier blue hat, with blue , leathers. 'Mr. i. Jl'Bougall whs the best man. The house had been beautifully de-eoratccl witk autumn flowers and foliage, and among tho presents, which entirely filled one of the rooms, were a number of Maori mats and kits, the gifts of soiiie of tho neighbouring Maoris, who had known tho bride for the greater part of her life. The wedding breakfast yras a very cheery event, and later in tho afternoon the bride and bridegroom left on their travels, Mrs. JMtlshKry travelling in a grey eloth costume, pretty hat on suite, and black fox fttrs, tho gift of tho bridegroom.
Wedding at Christchurcli. At St. Michael's Church, Christchurch, on 'Wednesday, thu wedding took place of the Rev. 0. Nelliam Watson, of St. John's, To Koruka, Poverty Ba.y, youngest son of tiic iatfl Mr. Oeorgo AVatson, of Christ's College, Christchurcli, to Miss Ivy Sheppanj, only daughter of the late itlf, H. G. Slicppard and Mrs. Shoppard, of "Mattaimra," Gloucester Street, Christcbuvch (states the "Sun"). The ceremony was iwrformed by the Eev. Cecil Mutter. The j brido, who was given- .away by her brother, Mr. (i. Lance SSieppan!, wore a gown of whito satin chanueusc, Tho bodieq was veiled almost entirely in benutiful Limerick lace, and finished with spray or orango'blossoms on the left side The skirt was draped with Hie same lace, and made with a pointed train, lined with slurred tuile, end finished with true lovers'.knot of tulle and cluster of orango blossoms, the. underskirt of duchessc niousselino bring finished with a deep flouuco of shadowlace. She wore a wreath of orango Blossoms and long tulle- veil, embroidered in tho corners, and lier oniy ornaments wcro a bangle and brooch, the gifts of her uncle. A shower bonquol <ff whito I flowers was carried. The brkte was attended by Miss Cookson, of FcndaJton (her cousin), and Miss Watson (Patoierston North), cousin of tho bridegroom. Miss Cookson \yore a pretty frot-k of apricot satin veiled in creani lnce, and hat of black chiffon velvet, Miss Watson was in pearly-grey satin, with black velvet hat. Each .wore gold bungles, the gift of tho bridegroom, and carried bouquets to harmonise with, their froeks. Tho bridegjoom was accompanied by Mr. , J. A. B. Cookson (cousin of. tho bri-uo) as best man, and Mr. Floyd M. I, ; Sheppa'rd (brother of the bride) as groomsman.

A social in aid of the funds of Island Bay parish was lield. hi St, Anne's Hall, Green Street, on Wodllesttay night nnd proved a groat success.. About 80 couples danced to musie supplied by G. A. A FareweU Party, Miss Nesli. ivbe is leaving for England nest/week, was tho guest of lionour at a faroweli evening which was given on TVodiseE-day by a number of her friends ot tho Pioneer Club..
