HUTT & PETONE RETURNS. The Mayor of Petone (Mr. J. )V. M'Ewan), who is a member of tho Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board has had a return prepared showing the number of patients admitted from Petono durim; tho year ended March 31, 1913, and tho year emied March 31, 1914.
Petono Hospital. The return shows that in 1013, 173 Petone patients were admitted, the maintenance fees amounting to £710 11s. 9d., of which the sum of £82 Iβ. lid. was paid, leaving £628 !)s.' 10d. outstanding. For tho year ended March 31, 1914, IC9 I'etone patients were admitted, the maintenance fees amountins;'to £398 4s. Gd. Of this amount £101 "IDs. 10d. was paid, leaving the sum of £293 us. 6d. outstandiug.
Petone Charitable Aid. Tho return also shows that during the year ended March 31, 1913, raj tions given and cash grants made in cases of charitably aid l in. Petono amounted to £237 3>s., money paid for j children's maintenance (not industrial! schools), £43 10s., avid for adults board- i ed out £26, making-a'total of £328 13s. For the year ended March 31, 1914, tlic total is greater. Rations and cash grants amounted to £206 19?. 10d... children's maintenance (not industrial schools) £4u 10s., and adults boarded out £26, making a total of £368 S's. 10d. Hult Hospital Returns. The figures for the Loner Mutt aro .supplied by Mr. H. Baldwin and show that for tho period from April 1. 1912, to March 31. 1913, 108 Lower Hutt patients woro admitted to. the Wellington Hospital, the maintenance charges amounting to £,138 3s. Gd., of which tho sum of £I'l4 Is. -Jd, wax recovered, leaving the sum of £294 'is. 'id. outstanding* During the period from April 1, 1913, to March 31, 1914 (S3 Lower Hutt patients were admitted and tho maintenance amounted to £338 175., of which £52 Bs. 6d. was recovered, 'caving tho sum of £2S(i Bs. Gd. outstanding. . Hutt, Charitable AM. During tho voar ended March 31, 1913, thu charitable aid distributed cost £30 .125., and for ilir year ended March, 1914, the emu of £53 los. was expended. Public, health inspections dining the year ended March 31, 1014, reported- 13 cases of scarlet fever, 17 of diphtheria, 12 of chicken-pox, six of enteric fever and two of tuberculosis. Durini; tho two years they paid 79 visits at Lower Hutt for disinfectant purposes.
