VOTE TO-DAY
No citizen should overlook the fact' that the Mayoral elections ta.ke place to-day, a»d that every voter owss it to himself and the community to record his vote. We have already cxprcslscd our views concerning the candidates who have come forward to contest t-ho office for Wellington City, and we need not again r-eeapitulafo the claims of Mn, J. V. Luke, the retiring Mayors to the support of every citizen who has my regard for Hit gafto and, rcasoiaablo conduct of our municipal affairs, and appreciation of the very great services rendered by Mil. L-Ckk luring the critic cal sta-ges of the strike of last yea-r. There is a very real daagei , that Mil. Luke's' success may bo regarded as assured, arid that in oonsequeiVce many voters may deem,it unnecessary to go to the polling booths to record their votes. It woald be a mistake to adopt this vi.cw v Overconfidence is a dangerous thing, and every vote possible should be recorded to-daj'. A list of the polling places will he found in another column, and we would urge- electors to make a point of voting 3fc the earliest possible moment.
