The annual meeting of the Napier Yorkshire Society was held on Saturday night, over 50 members being, present. The report and balance-sheet showed that tho society was in a sound position. Officers wero elected as follow:—President, Mr. S. Jowett; vice-presidents, Messrs.. S. Wood, C. Duckett, A. Ellis, and J. P. Williamson ; secretary, Mr. B. Thompson; treasurer, Mr. A. Pindar; committee, Messrs. A. A. Craven, G. Powell, Brown, E. Elford, and Clegg; auditor, Mr. Bullavant; trustees, Messrs. S. Wood and J. Jowett. Mrs. B. Thompson was presented with a silver teapot in recognition of her services at social gatherings,
