A long-felt want lias oeen supplied on the i'etono Hccreation Ground, the Borough Council having added to one of ■tho dressing-rooms a neat addition to be used, for ambulance purposes. The building is about 12ft. x 9ft. in size, and contains appliances such as a stretcher, ambulance chest, etc. At all football matches and other gatherings, a representative of the Petone Ambulance Brigado is on duty. On Saturday, Mr. J. Smart, of the local division, was in attendance. It is stated that Petone llccreation Ground is tho only public 6ports park in Wellington district which has such an asset. • A few boxing events took place during tho week end at the Petono Navals' Club shed in the presence of about CO people. Some Wellington enthusiasts took, part in the exhibition, and it is anticipated that as a result a boxing club will be established in Petone. So far tie following havo nominated for tho Wellington tourney on Wednesday week:— Feather-weight, — Stewart; light-weight, lnghain and Smith; welterweight. Watson: heavy-weight, Glading. , The Petone' Navals , Boating Committee, consisting of the officers ami noncommissioned officers, has decided to mnko an addition to the shed in tho shapo of a club-room. The old cutter, which on several occasions has been instrumental in life-saving, is to bo sold.
