LEAGUE RULES
ARRANGEMENTS FOR. SEASON. A meeting of the executive of the .Wellington Rugby League was held at Petono last evening.' Those present were: Messrs. Vf. Ken , (chairman), W. S. BricO (secretary), Martin, Murphy j Uoale, Senior, Webb, M'llvride, and Tovey. It was decided to begin the Cup matches on Saturday.' The senior fixtures are: Petone v.Newfown, at Potone (referee, Mr. Tr'egear), and Athletio v. Suburbs, at Newtown Park (Mr. H. Murphy). Tho Hutt Club intimated that it had two junior and the third-grade team to'enter. ■ It was decided, to loave tho matter of securing grounds at Hutt Park intho hands of the seorotary. • It was decided to reduce the affiliaTcadx to play aro: Athletio (1), Now? town (1), and Petone (1). Mr. M. J. Reardon wro|e, intimating that he would be unable to attend the forthcoming League conference at Auckland, and Mr. W. Beale was appointed delegate. It was a decided to reduce the affiliation fee from£2 2s. to£l Is. The New Zealand Council asked whethor a Wednesday would bo a suitable day on which to play a representative natch. It was resolved to reply stating that that day would be unsuitable. Tho Now Zealand .Council forwarded a constitution and rulos for consideration, and a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. Webb and Brice, was set up to report thereon. . . The secretary was instructed to challenge tho Auckland Club for the an-, nual cup match, and to ask that a team should bo sent to .Wellington this yean The secretary reported that he had been advised that the proposed tbiir of tho, Wellington team would include matches against Wanganui, Rotorua, and Taranaki in the north, and against Canterbury at Christchurch, and Nelson at Nelson. Representative matches would be played in Wellington against Auckland and Hawko's Bay. A New Zealand team will visit Australia this year, and negotiations aro now being made to send a team to England next season. disqualifieiTlea'gue men. (By Telegraph.—Prese Association.) Auckland, April 20. Four members of the disqualified Auckland Rugby League recently applied to tho New Zealand Council for reinstatement. The council decided to uplift tho suspension, but to allow the nembera cenccrned to take no official josition on any League or club for twelve months. Last evening this resolution was rescinded, an 3 another subitituted, to the effect thj»t consideration of theso applications bo held over for twelve months, the members having tho right to apply again at tho end of that period.
