ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
PELL PROM A LADDER. An employee of the Publio Works Department, David Hueston,,a.married mau, residing at Johnsbnville, was admitted to the Hospital on Saturday, sufferinpr from concussion, as tjie result of a fall from a. ladder. His condition is not serioua, but up till last night he had made no progress towards recovery. SLIGHT CONCUSSION. Alfred Howe, a«single man, residing at 13 Lome Street, was admitted to the Hospital on Saturday, suffering from slight concussion of the brain. Howe was engaged in loading mutton on the Athemio, at the Glasgow Wharf, 'when a carcass slipped, hitting him on the heafl. His injuries were attended to by Dr. Whyte,' who ordered, his removal to the Hospital.' Hβ'was progressing well last night. UNCONSCIOUS ON A TRAIN; , (By Telegmph.-Preai Aijoolation.) Ashburton, April 18. A passenger, on tho ■.. slow train from Christchurch to Ashburton last evening was found in an unconscious condition on arrival of the train. He was taken to the Hospital, where he is etill unconscious. An examination of his personal paperß indicates that he is Charles Cook, -who recently resided at Lurasden and othor places in Southland. FARM LABOURER'S BODY FOUND. Masterton, April 18. Information Teacbed the polico this evening that tho body of au elderly man in a. decomposed condition had been found iii a creek on Mr. Tatham's Homewood Station. Letters in a swag found on the bank of the creek indicato that the body is that of Harry Graham who had worked on a number of stations in the district.
