WELLINGTON SOUTH
THE PROGRESSIVE SOCIETY. A well-attended meeting of the executive of tho Wellington South Progressive Society was.held in Mr. Castlo's roonv.v Riddiford Street, last evening. Mr. Castlo presided.
It was resolved that the Mayor and tho city councillors bo.individually asked whether they approved of tho two alternative tramway routes (Crawford Road and Wellington Road) from Constable Street to Kilbirnic being submitted to tho ratepayers instead of tho Crawford Road route only.
It was resolved that tho plans' for conveniences at Riddiford Street and Riiitoid Street bo approved.
The chairman was requested to bring down suggestions for tree-planting in the district during the coming season.
Tho society views with approval tho work being done at the .Mem Street entrance to the Town Belt.
Extra lights aro being asked for in Moin Street.
It was decided that attention should ho directed to tho overcrowding of cars on the Newtown route.
