SIR WILLIAM WHYTE OF THE C.P.B. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright, Los Angeles, April 14. Sir William \Yhyte, ex vice-president of tho Canadian Pacific Railway, and a member of the board of directors, is dead. Sir William Whyte, from 18S1 to 1863, was superintendent of tho Grand Trunk Bailway; from 1883 to 1897 he was general superintendent of the Canadian Pacific Bailway; from 1897 to 1001 he.was manager of tho Western Lines; from 1901 to 1901, assistant to the president of the Canadian Pacific, and from 1901 to 1910 second vice-president. Ho was'knighted in 1911. . , A NEW ZEALAND TRADER. Sydney, April 15. Captain James Hamilton, aged 78 years, formerly _ a well-known New Zealand trader, is dead.
