WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY
The Wellington Presbytery met at St. John's Church last flight, iho Moderator, tho Rev. J. K. Elliott, 8.A., presiding. It was resolved that ths ministers and homo missionaries of the Prosbytery undertake tho supply of the Poton© pulnit till tho end of June. Mr. G. A. Troup suggested that the Presbytery appoint a committee to eo-opcrat-o with the Bible Class Unions in the forward movement that is being organised throughout the Dominion. On the motion of the Kev. Br. Gibb, itwas agreed, to appoint, a committee, sisting of the Eevs. J. K. EHietfc, W. Shiror, A. C. W. Standagc, and' the mover, to arrange for a special Sunday to bo set apart- in each coagregtttion for emphasis on Bible-elass ivbrlc, asid iu any other way to assist, tha movement. An application for a loan from the New Century Committee, for the motion of a church at Day's Say was approved of, and sent on to tbe committee. The collection for home mission and church extension york was cotninelitted to_ the liberality of congregations, and ministers were also requested; ■to brina under tho notice of .their deacons' courts tlio desirability of assisting .in the provision of bursaries for theological students. Tho Presbytery decided lo enter an emphatic protest against* the arrangements made by tho Defence Department, by which it is proposed to convcv over 3000 men, with horses and vpliieles, to the camp at Takapau on Sunday,. April 26, and to convey ovor 0000 men'on tho return journey on Sunday, May 10.
