SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. , Marriage Irr St. Mark's. The marriage took place in St. Mark's Church yesterday aiiernoon of Miss Olive Ellison, third daughter of Mr. J. W. Ellison, Superintendent of Police, Wellington, to Mr. Douglas Little, son of Mr. Alfred Little, of Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Hov. Askew, and Mr. Lawrence Wntkins played tho organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained gown of ivory duchess© satin, trimmed with silk lace, pearl ornaments and orange blossoms. Her embroidered tulip veil was fastened with orange blossoms, and she also wore an opal and diamond ring, the gift of the bridegroom. Four bridesmaids- were in attendance —Miss Lilian Ellison (sister), Miss Agnes Leopard, Miss Kato Ellison (sister), and littlo Miss Dulcie Ncilaon (niece- of the bride). The first two bridesmaids wore frocks of pale pink cropo do chine, trimmed with brown fur and lace, over white silk, and white panne- hats, trimmed wjth whito fur. Miss Kate Ellison was in white crepe do chine, and white hat, trimmed with fur, and tho littlo girl wore a lacs frock and lace mob cop. The bouijuet carried by tho bride was of whito roses and double white cosmeas, intermingled with asparagus and maidenhair fern, and was fastened with whito ribbon streamers. Those carried by tho three elder bridesmaids wcro of pink cactus dahlias and bright scarlet leaves, fastened with pink streamon. Tho tiny bridesmaid carried a posey of pink roses. The boat man was Mr. J. Harrison, and the groomsmen Mr. F. Masou and Mr. .K. Jtfurr. To tho chief bridesmaids tho bridegroom gavo ruby and pearl earrings, and to the other two gold bangles. A reception was afterwards held at the residence of tho bride's parents in Austin Street. Very lovely flowers decorated tho various rooms, the table in the dining-room, wlicro the wedding breakfast was set, having been arranged with white ribbon streamers, and with vases of white roses, eosmeas,' and groundsel. In the drawing-room, where the brido and bridegroom received the congratulations of their friends, the decorations were of tangerine and red coloured cactus dahlias. The breakfast room was crowded with tho many beautiful presents which had boon received by tho bride and bridegroom, Mrs. Ellison (mother of the bride) wore a mole coloured silk gown and a mole velvet hat with feathers. Mrs Neilson (sister of the bride) was in grey ■ charmeuse and a black panne liat with white plumes; Mrs. Livingstone (aunt of the bride) wore a saxe blue costume, and black hat with roses; Mrs. Ernest Little, check costume, white velvet liat,and ermino furs; Mrs. F. Townsend, grey silk, with seal coat, and hat en suite. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by- 3lr. Hitehens, and was accorded musical honours, rhe bridegroom proposed that of the bridesmaids, and other customary toasts followed. Later in the afternoon the bride and bridegroom left for Auckland and ltotorua, tho former travelling in a nary blue costume and cerise vetours hat with a white bird , .
A Wellington Wedding. The marriage took place- in the Olmrch of Christ, Vivian Street, of Mr. Ernest Norman Battersby, second son of .Mr; samos Battersby, of. Potone, to Jliss A<nics (Nancy) Brownke, only daughter of Mr. Frederick ■ Browulee, . Gnnett Streot, Wellington, lato of Upugjas Water, .Scotland. The .ceremony was performed by Mr. M. 0. Johnston, M.A., The brido was attended by Miss Alice Henry and Miss Ethel Battersby. . Mr. h. Battersby was tho best man, ana Mr. William Brownlcss the groojasman. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan, of Biverslea Koad, and Mr. Robert M'Cartby, son of Mr. M'Carthy, of Wall Road, Hastings. Tho ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Father Keogh, assisted by the Rev. Father Mahouey. j Napier Wedding. ' A pretty wedding took place- in St. Patrick's Church, Napier, on Monday, when Miss Lulu Moreland, eldest daughter of Mrs. E. Moreland, of "Wanotuy , Cameron Road, was married to Mr, Thomas Cagney', second son of tho lato Mr. John Cagney, of Oamartt. The brido was given away by Mr. E. Prebblo, and wore a gown of white tulle over silk with a veil and orange blossoms. She carried a handsome bouquet of 'white rosos. • Tho bridesmaids were Misses Flo Prcbblc and Doris Moreland, and Mr. Henry Bailey acted as best man, St. Mary's Guild. The monthly meeting of St. Mary's Guild was held in the Diocesan Rooms, Mulgravo Street yesterday morning. Thero was a good attendance. Miss Coates presiding.' Arrangements were made for the annual meeting, wliich will bo held on April 22 at 3 p.m. The Anglican Bishop of Wellington .(Dr. Sprott) will take the chair, and the annual report will be presented. Mrs. Dampier-Crossley and her daughter, Miss Chapman wero passengers by the Niagara, which arrived in- Auckland on Thursday from Sydney. They havo recently returned from Cairo, where they spent the winter with Lieutenant E.- Wynne Chapman, whose regiment is at present in Egypt. Miss Hilda Mowlem (Wanganui) is the guest of Miss .Warburton, Tho Terrace. Mrs. L. D. Peterson has returned to Wanganui from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. C. Allen, of Napier, and Miss Dorothy Allen are visit-ing .Wellington. The marriage took place in St. Peter's Church on Thursday of Misa Gertrude Schoch, eldest daughter of the late- Mr. G. A. Schoch and of Mrs, A. R. Schoch, to Mr. Andrew Craig Taylor, only son of Mr. and Mrs. James Taylor, of Wellington. Tho bride was given away by her mother, and was attended by Miss Ella Taylor as bridesmaid. Mr. V. Millbane was best man. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Taylor left later in the day f<ir the. Southern Lakes. The Mayor and Mayoress (Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Luke) are entertaining members of tho Carnival Committees and the stall assistants at the Concert Chamber of the TSwn Hall this evening.
