Dr. Alexis Ca.wel, the French surgeon, who came to America w. 1905, described the latest surgical experiments before the _ American Surgical Association. During an operation upon an animal the ventricle- of the heart was dumped. This stopped the circulation for three minutes, while the surgeon performed a rapid operation upon tho aorta, and then allowed the circulation to resume, The operation was successful. Ho thought that an operation similar in character .on human being was quite possible as a cure far .valvular diseases,
