Brown, Government Poultry Expert. Notes. England imported in 1913 the enormous .number .0f'.2,589,594,000 eggs—equal to 180,000 tons, and of the value of £9,730,574. Russia got/£4,745,229, and Denmark 162,296,843 of this money, or 72.83 per cent., all other countries receiving between them only 27.17 per cent. New' Zealand received, an infinitesimal proportionof tho 27.17 per cent, for a few small experimental consign! nients were made. Small as wero.our consignments, however, they were satisfactory, for the eggs arrived in good condition, and fetched good prices, showing that in export trade in eggs to the best market is practicable. The value of poultry imported into Great Britain last year was £909,894. Of this sum Russia got £344,665, the United States of America £212,130. France £142,256. Austro-Hungary £96.733, and all other countries £159,454. America is importing both eggs and poultry from Europe. It is reported (says the "Christian World") that the lost egg—more plainly, the bad egg—costs the family circ'lo of tho United States over-£13,200,000
