» COMMITTEE TO REPORT By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright ; London, April 7. At a meeting of the Pacific Cable Board, Sir Matthew Nathan moved to rescind tho concessions in the New Zealand cablo rates. The Hon. Thos, Mackenzie (High Commissioner, for New Zealand) moved an amendment to tho effect' that the wholo question of Australasian rates be referred to a committee, in order, if possible, to make further reductions. Mr. Mackenzie pointed out that where reductions had been mado these had been compensated for by an increase in revenue. He mentioned the increasing reserves of the board, and stated that the contributions by the Imperial, and Dominions Parliaments had amounted to £55,000 sterling in ten years. Tho amendment was carried.
