The drawing of the art union in connection with the recent city carnival took ■ place in-the Mayor's Room, Town Hall, at 9 o'clock last evening in the presence of tho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) and a number of citizens.' The following are ■ the winning numbers. (In the cases where the names of tho owners were written on the duplicate docket tho • Dames are mentioned.): — First prize—l667o. Second prize—lo7ol (E. Raulston). Third prize—l7l3o (Campion, 64 Elizabeth Street).' , Fourth prize—342s9. Fifth prize—34lsl (Bristowe, 3 Hanson Street). , Sixth priz€—2olsß. Seventh prize—l 6336 (Mrs. Rountre©, , Waripori Street). Prior to tho drawing the Mayor presented Dr. Platts-Mills with the first prize_ for the decorated motor-car competition. Three cheers were called for the winner by the Mayor. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Executive Committee and the carnival fund trustees was held prior to the drawing of the art union. His Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. P., Luke) presided. Aftor some discussion the following resolution was put and carried:, "That the unexpended money that has been, lodged in the bank to the credit of the Carnival Committee, realised from last .voar'a carnival, ,be landed over to the City Council to be spent on the Central Park, together with the accrued intere«ti« ...
