ANNUAL REPORT. , The report.of 'the Wellington League i which is to be presented at the annual meeting which takes place in the Trades Hall, Cuba Street, this evening, congratulates members and tho executive of the various clubs on tho great strides which Leaguo football mado I during last Season. The Leaguo game is just entering, into .the third year of its existeneo in Wellington, and tho increase in playing members during last season was very encouraging. The most pleasing feature.in connection with tho increased membership was the remarkable number of junior players who threw in their lot with the League code. Tho incoming committee arc strongly recommended to inaugurate a third-class competition for tho coming season. ' The grounds question (says the report) will require a great deal of attention, and the committee will bo able to say definitely within tho iiext few c\iys what grounds are available. The committee have secured one area on tho Potone Recreation Ground, ono on Newtown Park, and ono at Duppa Street. In addition to these the committee are negotiating for the use of two grounds at Lower Hutt Recreation Reserve, and two or threo grounds on Hutt Park. The report also makes, reference to the number of representative matches played last season. An effort is being made to got the English team to play a match in Wellington this season, and with that end in viow, a deputation is to wait upon tho City Council to ask for a reduction on tho ground charges 'for representative matches.
