Tho sequel to an interesting law case, which occupied tho Courts uy 1012 is just announced, arising originally froiii an action by Bradley and Colm (Ltd.) against Itanisay and Co.j for tho rqoovory. of a parcel of opals. Bradley and Colin vero shipping merchants, i currying on ■ business in London and Australia. In 1908 they received from a iirm iu Sydney (Fairfax and Roberts) a parcel of black opals for display at Shepherd's Bush Exhibition. A jeweller, Isedoro Brann, induced the plaintiffs to lot him havo the stones on approbation, and subsequently ' offered £800 for them (their stated value was £750). The offer was communicated to the Australian.owner, but meanwhile Braiin had Sold tho stones to dofendants lot £300, and then, after judgment; had been given against him for £750, he went bankrupt. Bradley and Colin then sued Ramsay and Co., the-purchasers of tho stones, for their recovery. The Judgo held, and the Appeal Court sustained tho contention, that' the action against Braiin debarred the plaintiffs from recovering from tho defendants. Tho owners of the stones, Fairfax and Roberts, alleging negligence affecting the salo, have now. obtained judgment against Bradloy and Colin, the jury awarding £450.
