There aro growing prospects of tho Fivo-Powor Group of bankers agreeing to a twenty-fivo million loan to Cliina; provided that Presidant Yuan Shih Kai accedes to tho conditions stipulated, namely, the placing of tho administration of tho Salt Gabello (salt tax) on a sound footing and the arranging of a certain measure of foreign supervision regarding note redemption, and currency reforms. Tho loan is partly intended, besides reforming the ourroncy, to rodeom short-term loans, and to strengthen the provincial note issues.
