COLONIAL LOANS.
A HINT ABOUT SINKING FUNDS. By Telegraph.—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. April 5, 5.6 .p.m.) London, April 4. _ The 'Times" considers that the sinking fund for tlie Queensland loan and for several recent colonial issues is inadequate to provide for their redemption at maturity. "For their own Bakes, as well. as in tho stockholders' interests," says the paper, "it will bo well for colonial Governments to regulate their loan operations on sound conservative lines. Their stocks enjoy a more favourable market than almost any other class of securities,' and it will be to their advantage to prove themselves worthy of that exceptional favour."-
