MEMORIAL FUND PROPOSED.
HELP FOR THE NEEDY. More than ono person who visited tho scene of yesterday morning's fire and explosion expressed tho opinion that a fund should bo opened for tho purpose of raising a memorial to those who gave up their lives in assisting a fellow-towns-uian in hour of need. The memorial idea is a commondablo one, but another suggestion is to inaugurate a fund for tho assistance of those wives and families who have lost their - breadwinners in tho holocaust of yesterday morning. There aro some, we uni derstand, who will feel tho pinch occa- ' sioncd by: the sudden call to. "the man :of the house." The Dominion would ibe glad to receive and acknowledge any .donations towards such. an..object.. '
