As tho result of tho gift auction held on Thursday, under the auspices of tiio Wajrarapa and East Coast'P. and A. Society, their funds will benefit to the oxtont of over £300, which is to bo utilised for improving the grounds, Tho annual picnic of the Belvedere milk suppliers was held on Thursday afternoon,. and passed off very enjoy' ably. During tho afternoon races of all kinds wero held, tho principal event being the Bracelet Handicap, which was won by l'ercy Parker, ' A dance in aid of the funds of the Carterton stall at the forthcoming Pipe Band bazaar at Mdstcrton was held at Dalefiold on Thursday evening, seme 60 couples being present, music being supplied by Miss A. Nielsen. Messrs. E. Arcus and V. Ashton wera M.C.'s, and tho ladies' committee provided supper, Mr. G. Fenwick, of Feathcrston, has been' appointed treasurer to- the. Wairarapa Automobile Associations in place of Mr. W. G. Miller, svlio is leaving the district. The final for tho Booth Cu,p was played between Carterton andAla-stcrtoii Bowling Clubs on tho local green on Thursday afternoon, Masteriou winning the trophy for tho season.
