HiS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. The excellent bill presented at U! 3 Majesty s Theatre tin's week is attracting largo audiences. Among the star turns are Captain Brunswick awl his company m tho humorous Wild West sfceten, "A Tenderfoot's Troubles," Cunningham and Hose, an attractive alto smger, and a jocund bkcfc-faee comedian, Mitchell and Lichtner. KING'S THEATRE. The pictures at the King's Theatre continue to delight large audiences nightly, 'j'ile present programme includes a thrilling dotectivo photo-plav entitled "One Hour Before Dawn.'' "Zaza, the Bandmaster," "The Jiitt'lo Hero," and other kinciiiatograph gems. There will be a matinee to-morrow afternoon.

THE EMPRESS THEATRE. "The Shadow of Onilt," a Kaieni feature drama, took prominence iu the new programme at the Empress Theatre yesterday. Tho story relates tow Van Dam, a prosperous financier, harasses one of his clients for tho. settlement of a debt contracted through gambling on the Stock Exchange. Tho debtor is financially rained, and his position so warrtes him that he dies. Van. Dam's conscience pricks bitn, and. to makts amends in some- degree, ho engages tin's dead man's son as his secretary. Emily Vardeli, Van Dam's niece, whom he has adopted, has a suitor, but Van Dam dislikes him, and prefers her to marry his new secretary. Tho financier threatens Emily that, if she does not discard her suitor, he will disinherit her. Tlra girl than elopes, and tho young couple are married. Van Dam thereupon alters his will. in favour of his secretary. A year later Emily and her husband are in straitened circumstances, and she appeals to Van Daw. His terms ato that she must leave her husband. This she refuses to do, and shortly afterwards Iter hits-band secures a very remunerative position. Van Dam decides to go abroad, and, yielding to his better- nature, he adds 'codicil to his will, again making Emily his heiress. The financier is stricken with heart seizure, and the secretary, discovering tho codicil, do'strays it. He then carries Van Dam up to a garret, whore he binds him in a cuau\ • He sets fire to the house, but the timely arrival of the brigade saves Van Dam's life. A reconciliation takes places between tho financier and his niece, and justice, is done to all. Special mention is due also to "Tenderfoot's Money" (A.B. drama), "Canine Traction in tho Belgian Ann'y," "The Vapour Bath" (Mutual farce-comedy), and "Billy's Birthday Present" (&lig feature eomedy).
