ADDRESS BY DR. NEWMAN, .M.P.. A meeting of the Hataitai latcpayers' Association was hold last night. Dr. A. K. After disposing of this question, Dr. Newman gave a resume of his experiences in Kngland and Germany ou the muchdiscussed motor-bus system in cmijjuhction with the running Of municipal tramways, and cited instances where such a system would apply to Wellington City. Coining k> local affairs, Dr. Newman referred' to the Mnniripal Corporation Amendments Act, 1013, which gave power to kiciil bodies to do away'-with misightjy advertisemonte,■ scrap-heaps, etc., o« vacant sections, and stated that this amendment was, unfortunately, not widely known.
