FIRES.
AN ARCHITECT'S OFFICES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Hawera, March 23. The offices of J. E. Roe, architect, situated in. a two-storied building, wero gutted by fire yesterday afternoon. Nothing in the office was insured. -Mr. Roo"is a considerable loser, as valuable records of work were destroyed. » J. C. Gillett, draper, who occupied the premises underneath, had his stock damaged by water. The building was owned by D. Harry,, and insured for £1000 in tho Commercial Union Office, and Gillett's stock for £1500 -ia tho State Office, aha £950 in the CommeroiaJ Union. FIRE IN WILLIS STREET. Fire broke out in a two-storied wood and iron nine-roomed' dwelling-house and shop, occupied, by Mr. Geo. ¥. Woodward, stationer, at No.: 263 Willis Street, at 2.40 a.m. yesterday. When the brigado arrived tho fire had a good hold, and the shop and its contents were badly damaged. The remaining portion of tho house suffered from tho heat and smoke. The building, which forms part of the Luxford Estate, is insured* in tho Commercial Union Office for £400; the stock and fittings of tho shop in the Royal Exchange Office for £400; and the contents of the dwelling for £100. -
