ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
SWIFTS ANNUAL JIEEIING, Mr. B. L. Salmon presided at the twentj--first annual meeting of the Swifts •feootban Club last evening.' In moving the adoption of the report, the chairman Stated thai last season had been a fairly prosperous one, but it* though tho •pojr'formances of the various teams had been distinctly good, they had nevertheless been below the form «' previous seasons. The Speaker then-re* ferred to Mr. G, Wilson's removal: from Wellington to Auckland, and paid a tribute to his. services to the Ptab during, the years that ho was a* njembcr. The chairman also .congratulated the club on its financial position. The liabilities were nil, and the amount <>.( assets over liabilities was £10 2s. [The cash in hand Vvaa over £6, In regard to the association's new ground at Kilbirnio South, he thougnt tlia:t members and supporters should help towards raising the 250 snares which were Wanted by Easter.
Mr. P. Pyo-Smith seconded tho motion, and tho report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. C. T, Skcrrott, K.C.; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. E. Fordham, J. F. Hills, H. G. Mayor, A. W. Vonnell, F. J. Courtonay, R. PycSmith, B. L. Salmon, .T. F. Atkins, L. White, P. R. Pvo-Smith, G. Heale, J. Smith, P. G. Kinneberg, I<\. J. Tattlo, and G. Wilson; club captain, Mr. J. H. Pye-Smith; hon. treasurer, Mr. E. AV. Guise J hon. secretary,. Mr. J. Abol;hon. assistant secretary/Mr. R. 0. Hutcheson; hon. auditor, Mr. H. D. Viekeryj delegates to W.F.A,, Mossrs. W. Mathieson, F. Sanders, P. E. Pye-Smith; management committee, Messrs. F Sanders, J. H. Pyc-Smifh, G. Guise, F. Mattingly, and A. Boss; .senior selection committee, Messrs. F. Sanders, H. Guise, and A. Ross. A letter was received from Mr. A, D. M'Laren, of Auckland, asking th<> club to receive a visit from a third division team from the northern citr. It was stated that the Auckland team had won tho fourth division championship Inst' season and that they were going to playin the third division this year. It was decided that the visitors should play Swifts' third division team at Easter. The secretary of the Marlborough Association invited Swifts to visit Blcn- ' hoim nt Easter. The invitation was accented, _ It was resolved that practice 6hould commence on April 4. Four silver medals wero presented to Messrs. E. Flaws. J. Waroham, G. W. Humphries, and J, Brownleo for being the best players in the fourth division team last season. Masters 11. Guy, G. S. Sutherland, and W. V. Smith (members of tho sixth division team) also received silver medals for being tho best players in their team.
