The story is told of a .veteran of tho American Civil War who returned to the home of his boyhood to attend a banquet given by tho old boys. The diners were all men ho had known as youngsters. Ho expected them to talk over old times. Instead, one talked incessantly about his bail liver another discoursed on his weak heart a third had ja lot to say about Ms kidney trouble, and so it went on. When tho veteran returned to his home, he was asked h,QW ho enjoyed tho banquot. "Banquet," he replied, showing vexation. "It wasn t a banquet-it was'an organ recital. A lady of-recent widowhood encountered much difficulty in framing an inscription for her husbands tombstone. After endless consultations with her friends and neighbours this was tho one she selected: "Heat iu I'eacc-until we meat again."
