OTAKI.

The party, comprising Messrs. Girdlestone, Hume, Cotton, Wood, and Moir, who were expected to arrive here yesterday, via the Tararuas, from Greytown, have failed to reach their destination, and it is presumed that they have, on account of bad weather, returned to Greytown. Miss Maisie Carte has been spending a holiday in Otaki, being the guest of Mrs. Byron Brown. Miss Carte is still far from well, and it will be some time before she is able to return to the stage. Mr. Arthur Drake, who is in a private hospital in Otaki, is slowly regaining lost health, and is able to take outdoor exercise. The Misses Drake (2) returned from Nelson on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. W: Bull, of Manakau, leave at the end of the month to take up residence in Levin. They will be much missed both in social and sporting circles. Mr. Bull was a prominent hockey and tennis player. Mrs. Bull was an ardent horticulturist, and an exhibitor of some standing at various flower shows.
