Thomas John Maioncy, who arrived at the Bluff from Australia with a bad criminal record about four years ago, and who has spent three and a half years of his residence in tjio Dominion in gaol, was before the. S.JI. Court today on several charges of stealing goods from shop doorways. The police stated that his modus operand! was to go about with a big , ba» which he stuffed full (A articles wh'ich he found "handy to his . fingers. When arrested he was wearing, tj". openly, a motor coat- which he had stolen a day or iis'o before. The Bench imposed sentences totalling five months' imprisonment.
