Tho. twenty-third annua.! meeting'of the Metropolitan Permanent BitiHins arid Investment Society was held last night. Mr. W. M. Ilannay presided. i, l'he chairman congratulated the society on its successful year, -and eomplinieisted tho staff on the good work which it had done. The annual report and the. bala.noe-shcot (already published) were adopted. Messrs. Henry Ifuine and George. M#e, who retired from' the directorate, were reelected. The auditors.. Messrs. 11. Kemlier arid Son and E. Bueho'k wore afeo reelected. .■
