BUENOS AYRES MAN.
IMPRESSION OF THIS COUNTRY. (By TeleEraph.-Ercss Association.) Christchiiroh, March 10. Yesterday Mr. Francisco 1). Justo, head of a wealthy firm in Bucnoa Ayres, dealing in agricultural lines, arrived in Christchurch. Talking to a. reporter today, Mr. Justo stated that a Press Association message that, had been sent from Fcilding had given a-rather incorrect version of his remarks when visiting tho High School, boys' agricultural camp on .Mr. Shore's estate at Almadale, near Keilding. He was supposed to have said that "he had a souat the Washington Agricultural College, America, but tint the work at Almadale was much more thorough and valuable than that at the American college/' What he reallv had meant to convey to his hearers was that Tie.-had rather wished his son to come to New Zealand to learn farming, but his son had preferred to go to America. "I had neard a lot about New Zealand," said Mr.-Justo, "and from what I have seen so far I must say that I am very much pleased with tho country, which is. favoured with a fine climate and a very fertile and productive soil. I went through a large area of dairying country in the. North Island, and was very interested to see the modern and up-to-dato methods by which that industry is carried on here." "Would you think it worth a New Zealand farmer's while to sell out and go to South America?" said the reporter. "Well, I must say that I thought land very high in price here —too high in fact," was tho reply. ,r We have in my country largo areas of laud close to the railways, all sown down'with alfalfa, or lucerne, as ,you call it, and highly suitable for dairying, that can ho bought at from £6 to £10 per acre, this price being for the freehold. This land is all ready for dairying."
