James White, armed with a blackthorn, 1 headed a procession of Larkinites, with staves to demand from the Lord Mayor of Dublin work for tho unemployed.. ■ ■ White ordorpd the police to clear the road. After a serious conflict the polico dispersed tho procession. Batons were freely used, and several were injured. Three men are in 'hospital. White was injured about tho face, and was arrested. THE CHARGES AGAINST CAPTAIN ■ WHITE. FORMIDABLE LIST. (Reo. March 15, 5.5 p.m.) London, March 14. Captain White has been granted bail. Hβ is charged with assaulting tho inspector, a sergeant, two constables, and the mail-van driver. Tho inspector states that he was struck on tho back of the lead with a blunt instrument whilcT- arresting AVhite. Meanwhile tho , latter struck him with a blackthorn on tho chest, and violently resisted arrest.' A cablegram' received from London on November 20 stated:—Sir Roger Casement (formerly in the Consular Service) and Captain James White , '(a son of tho late Field-Marshal Sir George White) are-help-ing the Government to form an Irish.- National Volunteer Corps to uphold the authority of the Government in Ireland, so countering the Ulster movement. Captain White intends to start drilling the strikers in Dublin. Connolly, tbo strike leader, supports the'proposal. .
