RUGBY CLUBS.
WELLINGTON F.C. MEETING,
. Tho Wellington Football Club held its forty-fourtu annual meeting in the Oddfellows' Hall last evening. Mr. T. S. Hoiialdson presided, and the attendance was large. '
The annual report and balance-sheet (already published) wore adupted. The club captain, Mr. U. D. Weir, said the past season had buen tho most successful one which tho club had ever known. Referring to the fact that the club had only played on tho Athletic Park twico during tho season, Mr. Weir remarked that t'hero "must be something rotten in the state of Denmark." The reason was that the whole thing was governed by finance 'lhe Rugby Union had to bo very careful to put before the public a good show card. It was not a question of favouritism, but one of getting as much revenue out cf tho games as possible. Thoso present would be very surprised when they learned in a few weeks' time what amount of money ha<l been lost by t'be union during the season. It would take between £1503 and £2000 to liquidate tho season's expenses. The chairman congratt?lated the club ou the large number of hew members (thirty-nine) who had been' elected to tho club. Mr. H. Stock was elected a life member on the motion of the.chairman. ' Tho cha'rma.l announced that Mr. V. R. Nimmo presided at the annual meeting of the Oriental Club. The attendance was large. The report and , balance-sheet (already published) were, adopted. In moving their adoption the president said that the ■ finances of thVclub were fairly satisfactory though all would like to see the • mortgage (about £300) wiped out. 1 Tho club will commence gymnasium work right away, there will be a field practice nest Saturday, and at Easter' the Merivale (Christchurch) Club will probably visit Wellington and play the senior team.

ASSOCIATION.
THISTLE CLUB'S MEETING. The seventh annual meeting of the Thistlft Club was held last evening, Mr. W. Stevens presidinj, and thero was an excellent attendance of about 30.
According to the annual report the past season was one of the most successful which the club had experienced. The senior team (which won the First Division Championship) was congratulated on their record, which was as follows:—Matches played, 10; won, 9; drawn, 1. Points for, 19. Goals for, 31; against .7. The club was well represented in representative matches and the committeo congratulated Messrs. Gibson, Barnett, Edwards, Bickcrby, Loadsman, and Brownlee.

Club was held last evening. There were about 27 meirfbefs present.
