IMPRESSIONS OF EMPIRE.
LORD EMMOTT'S TOUR. By Tele£rra,ph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec, March 11,'. 11.20 p.m.) London, March 11. Lord Emmott ■ (Under-Secretary of State for tho Colonies), at tho Colonial Institute, lectured •on his impressions of tho Empire gathered during his tour. Ho said, that ..the. Imperial Parliamentary party welcomed in the Dominions' because the Imperial Parliament was venerated, not because its views on Dominion questions wore considered to bo particularly enlightened, but because tho parent institution had been copied. ' Personally he saw no signs in ,tho Dominions of a general desire for closer organic union. For the moment they must rest satisfied that the loyalty of the Empire was growing with the growth of selfrgovernmcnt. .
