THE MARCONI INQUIRY.
LOUD LOR-EBURN'S POSITIOiN. , By Teleera.j>h—Press Association—ConyricM (Rec/March 10, 9.40 p.m.) London, March 10. Speaking in the House of Lords, the Marquis of Lansdowno (Unionist), in, moving tho appointment of the Marconi Inquiry Committee- of tho Lords, said that Lord Loreburn (who has been severely criticised for his action, as a Liberal peer, in joining the Committee) had joined on condition that the charges against Lord Murray .of Elibank were specifically formulated, and that the inquiry was- limited to'tho specific charges. The methods of the committee, eaid Lord Lansdowne, would be judicial, and both sides of the.House had desired Lord Loreburn's appointment.
The Marquis of Crewo said that, Lord Loreburn had agreed with him that the Committee was unnecessary) but he desired that if the Committee were constituted, it should bo as strongly judicial as possible.
