The New Zealand Loan and Jlereaniilc Co., Ltd., report:—We -offered, a fiir-size>l cataloguo of bag wool, pheopckins. hides, tallow, etc. There was a good attendance of buyers, and keen competition for everything. Wool end skins w : ere about 3d. per lb., 'higher, calfskins and hides about id. per lb.'higher.than .last fortnightly sale. There wore also better innuirirs for tallow at an advance of per cwt. -' : 'v
Messrs. Levin and Co. report:—We offered 3000 eheepWiins, 700' hides arid calfskins, and a quantity, of tallow. . Sheepskins met with'very keen comnotition.Wd advanced ( from .par to a farthing'all round. also met with nlenty of demand, cowhides showing a distinct improvement, and calfskins were dearer to the .extent of a penny. Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co. report: —Our catalogue comprised a- large cinantitv of bsgs and fadec.l of wool (fl-ll bales being held for the sale on March 20, when the overuea buyer* will be present), 51C0 nheenskins. and ''!00 hides and besides tallow. Competition was animated at par to a farthing advance for'wool and sheepskins, while hides were ' distinctly firmer. Good cowhides advanced a. farthing per lb., and advance in ox' hides being in favour of sellers. We irecurcd 9d. p« lb. for porno lots of well-conditioned hides, and the same prico was paid for'a-lieht-coi'ditioned line of three-ouartcrbrcd skins. Messrs.. Abraham and Williams report:--We : offered our. nsual quantity of all classes of produco to a good attendance of buyers. - Competition was Tery keen for. all lots', and prices were firm at a slight advance. Tallow was a little easier.
