HAWKE'S BAY SHOW
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Hastings, March 4. 'J'ho largo attendance of town and country people at the Haivke's 13a,y A. and P. Society's autumn shew, which was held in delightful weather to-day, eviclou.ied the popularity of the annual fixture for the display ot the finest fruit, (lowers, and farm and garden produce. It was "People's Day," and during tho afternoon a crowd ol about 12,000 people moved in a living stream through tho produce sheds and wound among the attractions grouped ou the picturesque grounds. Mr. D. A. May (Auckland), judge of fruit, paid a high tribute to the orchardists. Ho remarked that- fine as the exhibits were last autumn ■ the display this year excelled anything ho had seen, being practically without a blemish.
