UPPER HUTT TOWN BOARD
At the meeting of the Upper Hntt Town Board on Monday Mr. R. H. AVobb (chairman) presided. The offer of H. AV. Shaw to lay an experimental section of. his new reinforced concrete free of charge was referred to the Works Committee to select a suitable site, for the same.
, Tho Valuation Department wrote stating that tho valuation of the Town District was now proceeding and asking for the name of the board's assessor. It was resolved to reappoint Mr. John T. Benge, ho having previously acted in that- capacity at a special Assessment Court last year provided he is willing to act.
It was resolved by six votes to' one (Commissioner Edwards dissenting) that persons outsido the town district .area might be supplied with water'at 2s. pdr 1000 gallons with a minimum charge of £5 per annum and paying all costs in connection with the installations. Water to-be supplied through a halfinch servico and motered.
It was decidad to acquaint the Wellington Racing Pub with tho report of tho engineer wherein lio stator] that tho water pressuro at the western end of the township was 1031b. to tho inch, and, that at Trentham racecourse tho pressure would be approximate 1161b. to tho inch.
AA , . C. Goss was appointed to the position of wa,ter inspector. Uy. six votes to one (Commissioner M'Curdy dissenting) a resolution was adopted exonerating the clerk from allegations of lack of diligence and attributing tho congestion of office work to tho non-completion of tho late-book additions for 1912-1913, and the omission to outer up_ the dog registration book which contained some hundred and odd entries.
. E. I. AVilkie's complaint that the proximity'of the saloyards to his pronorty prevented their being let to tenants was ordered to be replied to that the board had obtained a report from tho Health Department on the subject and that tho proprietors had complied with all tho conditions laid down by the Health Officer from AVollington. ■
