The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway Company has constructed nearly 1000 miles of main and branch lines'-during the last twelve months. This -would not. have been possible had not tracy-layiiiK machines been brought-into requisition. One of these track-layers has put down five miles and a half of steel in a 6ingle^day.
