OUTBREAKS AT CARTERTON. . Carterton, March 1. At eight o'clock" last night a fire gutted a four-roomed cottage in Belvedere Street, owned by Messrs. Hadiey Bros,, and occupied by Mr. J. Callaghan. No one was at home at tho time. The firo had a good hold when discovered. The brigade saved the buildings next door. The building was insured, but not' the 'contents. Nothing was saved.

At 3.30 this morning a six-roomed Jibus'e v iii Park Road, belonging to the Parker: Estato, was discovered ablaze. The building had only been vacated-a week, and another tenant was to have taken possession 'this week. Tho origin of the fire is\ a complete mystery. Thero is an insurance, but tho amount is not available at present.
