' ,; Perhaps „one of tlio greatest results achieved.''from'.the distribution of small parcels of hist-resistiiig oat seed- has been obtained by a Whatawhata farmer. Ho received a pound-weight parcel of seed and planted it in careftilly-prepared land, from which lie reaped over 1601b. of first-class oats. The threshing •of this oat so far at Rualaira Stato farm has produced' 3000 bushels, and .has averaged 800 bushels to tho acre..This marvellous result lias sprung from ono plant discovered in t-lio cciitro of a rustinfected paddock less than eight years ago.
