A. .Mattrass dairyman, of Olmkimo), on buhait of A. H. Wilkio (land agent, Ohakuoe), plaintiff claiming $2® damages. In each caso the alleged libel wfts contained in a letter signed "A. A.. Mattra-ss,'.' which appeared .k the o'hu» kune "Times," and contained assertions to the-effeet that itseemed strange that Councillor Wilkio should challenge the Mayor to a bout of fisticuffs, and that the ratepayers,cxpected something hotter from him: also that it appeared a strange attitude for a Justice oi the Peaee to adopt. f
