A number of tho roads havo ,leon badly cut up bv Public Works in connection with railway "construction, and some five thousand yards of metal are wanted to. make the damage good. Tho metal is available, but difficulty is being experienced in getting a • sufficiency of trucks to transport it to tho. placcs where 'ft is required.- Yesterday Mr. J. HMlino, member for.Strati'ord, and Mi*.; E. C., .Robinson, Whaugamomona County Engineer, -interviewed the Hon. -\V. H. Herries (Minister of Railways) "on tho subject and !;o promised to do all that he could to assist the county in tlio matter.
