■ PRINCIPAL WINNERS. ■ (By Telegraph.— Special ■ Correspondent.). ■ : • Talhapo, February -25. Tho third annual show under the auspices of the Rangitikei A. arid'"P. Association .-.was held here to-day. The weather yesterday was dull and thrcatcn.mg,. and rain, fell in the evening. Iho morning of .show day was .dull, with a high wind,, but there was promise of tho weather keeping fine. Rain, however, commenccd'early in the 'afternoon, and fell steadily almost till tho end of tho .show. In consequence of this tho attendance was; about .750 short of that of last year's total, the number ' paying for admission being about. 3500. In spito of ithe weather the show was a great success. The entries in the various events constituted a record, and in all the stock classes the competition was very keen. The Horses. In-the-classes for horses, Messrs. W. J.. Birch and Sou ;were tho most successful exhibitors, securing three firsts and one third. Other successful exhibitors wore: —Messrs. T. Mann, Watt and Lowry, and T. W. Williams. Iu the miscellaneous horse sections, Messrs; H. H. Ciowdy,' M'Laughlan Bros., H. I). Bennett; and J. Pino j-secured one first prize each, and minor honours were distributed between Messrs. h. H. Gowdy, J. M'Keown, J. Bellistf, and Cr. E. Anderson. Mr. J. Corrigan's Prince Victor was awarded first prize for remount stallion, and Messrs. Mahors and Victor Hugo first for carriage stallions. Harness horses were well represented, the first prize-winners being Messrs. W- J., Birch and Sou, F. Cottrell, : and A. Malcolm. Other prizes were won by Messrs. Jopp, M'Namara, Miss DarcjvJ. Nicliol, P. Ferguson, arid'A. James. Mr. C. Powell was the £u,ceessrul exhibitor "of saddle horses, scouring five firsts and champion award. Messrs. J. Pine, P. Fergusson,'and 11. Powell also secured first prizes, tho minor awards going to Miss Helen Howard, and Messrs. R. B. Hair! M. Wilson, T. iC. Kebble, and R. M. Bower. There were numerous entries in the pony classess, Mr. A. Malcolm and Miss Eva Jones 'each securing two firsts, Mr. J. Pino secured' one first, and other prizes went to Mossrs. J. Nichol, V. N. Randolph, E. Theobold, .M. Bennett, Roger Simpson, iind Miss M. Smith. Sheep Glassos. In ; the sheep section Romneys were predominant, and there was little competition in the class for purcbrc.ds apart from Romneys. Mr. R. Tanner was tho most successful exhibitor of Romneys, securing six firsts, five seconds, and one third, and thus winning Mi 1 . J. F. Studholm's trophy for mo-st points in Romneys for the second timo in- succession. , Other successful exhibitors were Messis. A. R. Fanning, D. H. Kilgour, L. Pleasants, and J. Bartosh, the last-named securing a first and. championship in i the class for Romney 'ram'over 21 months. '

Mr. James Wilson secured four firsts, five seconds, and one third in the classes Tor Lincolns, other first being awarded to Messrs. G. Brown and D. G. Forlong, who secured first and chamnion for three Lincoln, rams over 21 months. Mr. J. Wobb was the only'exhibitor of English Loices'ters, and Mr. C. H. Brown was awarded all the prizes in the classes for Border Leicostcrs. Mr. 3. Bartosh was the--.most successful in the farmers'' classes, annexing five firsts, and Mr. Z. J. Davis took tlie special prize for most points. Mr. J.- Webb', sesured. most of the. prizes for fat sheep, but ho ,was run very closo by Messrs. \V. Reid and Son and D. Scott. Messrs. W. Reid and Son, R. "Wilkie, and Dr. Barnett were tlio most successful exhibitors in ; thy classes for fat lambs. . ■ • Cattle nntt Other Exhibits. Messrs. W. Prime, 11. Phillips, and G. .Parker wou raost prizes-in -exhibits of pigs, of which/ however, there was 'only a poor showing. . In the cattle section-Messrs. A. R. Fanning, J. Bar.tosh, D. Scott, and A. W. Bickncll were awarded, the prizes, the entries'.being confined', to those, exLibitors.;:; 7 j Mossrs.-.'S. Lancaster- and K Clnigclies were the chjnf winners in the dairy, c'attlo classes, and the former secured :Mr'. : 'G... A.. Wheeler's trophy., For/most points for vegetables, W. J. Forster, A. 0. Reichardt, J. D. Ellson, Taihape School, Torerere School, A. R. Fanning, J. M'Cracken, and B. A. Fraser wero awarded first prizes, the general display being exceptionally good. Mr. I , '. Hccrdgwi was tho chief exhibitor of fruit, and he won all the prizes with the exception of those secured by Mrs. S. Forstcr. There was a great display in the 'homo industries section, tho principal winner being Mrs. S. .Forstcr, who secured Messrs. M'Laugh'laii' Bros.' trophy for most ■points. ■ ■ ■. '.
