' duce, and latterly wool and hemp. Commerce, and Inr dustrial Associations'.' ' ItMs proposed, to; discuss'and .arrange .preliminaries in connection with tho representation of New Zealand raw products and manufactures at'tho' San Frrinciscb-Pan'ama Exhibition. ... -■..;.. ■ Mr. Massey's. desire is that the presi'dents of'these associations.shall become members" Of a central , and that they, shall also form committees in their own centres to assist m all matters pertaining to securing a good representation of tho products, live stock, etc., of the Dominion at what , will' be one of the most important exhibitions ever been held—at any rate, 1 so far as New Zealand is con' cerncd. The intentions of the.Government will be outlined',by Mr.' Massey at the meeting. Tho Secretary of Agriculture, Mr. F..S. It is understood that the intention of the Government is that apart from the official'sample exhibit the Central Committee should make arrangements with .' xespect to .the dispatching of the other matters, etc., of exhibits from New Zea- ■'..•■
The Government exhibit is. to be in ■the nature,of a' sample display of New Zealand'products. , It .Will bo placed in the New Zealand Pavilion, and will not ibb of a competitive characteiv-that is, at W'ill not compete for awards. All private exhibits aro.to be classified and placed in a building-along /with the exhibits of the same class .from .other countries. 'For instance, wools from all countries, sending/them' will be ■displayed in a ''Wool Court,'. , and refrigerated products-such as meat;,'will have a separate building., ■- , . ■ Although, the .Government-, intends to have a sample .display worthy of this country, itdesires the people of the Dominion to assist, by ■ sending. great : competitive displays. • ~ . . TheiTJnion Steam, Ship' Company has been.liberal in-agreeing to forward and ibring back exhibitc/free of charge. The Railway Department wilL convey exhibits free of charge to the port of shipment.
