Vida Upton, on two charges of forgory of withdrawals from the Grey Post Office, was-committed for trial at. the MagistrateVCourt,to-day. The evidence for the : prosecutiQiv alleged that sho had been in the habit of visiting a married woman at Waiiita, from whom she stole a bank hook, ami presented two withdrawal slips for, £10 a'titf £1.3 at an interval of an hour, : Acditstd, who had taken out a ■ticket in'the namo. of Miss Smith, for Wellington:. by the Mapourika, from which- ship her luggage was recovered by i\it> police, alleged that she had purchased a ring and bangle of the value of £3. Accused pleaded not gml'tv. Bail was allowed, herself in £150 and a surety "of £150. ' "
